Rated 5 out of 5 by Diane GB from Well Made Boots I could tell from taking these out of the box that they were well made sturdy boots. The leather is soft, but not so soft that light scratches will tear it. They are heavy, with a sole that is rugged enough to handle heavy use, and the design is very smart, practical, and classic. I haven’t taken them for a long walk yet. They feel roomy with regular thin socks in my regular UK4, but in experience ordering a size down (UK3) it usually works out worse to size down. They will be great with thicker wool socks, not too roomy my feet will slosh around, just comfy. Overall, they look like an excellent investment, and in a lovely dark cool brown (not chestnut like the photos).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Diane GB from Sent the 3 back, kept the 4 I originally purchased this shoe in a UK4, then felt it was too roomy in the toe box, so I kept it, and immediately ordered the UK3. After comparing them, the UK3 is too small, and I sent it back keeping the UK4. The reasoning is that It’s healthier to have a slightly larger shoe, which fits comfortably with wool socks and won’t feel too tight after a long day of walking. I find this shoe to accommodate the swelling of my feet the same as a good pair of wellies does. The boots look well made and very smart on. I would recommend if you are a 3.5 to go larger to a size 4. It doesn’t fit swimmingly large, but just comfortable for a “barely there” fit that feels secure and like the thick soles can take a rugged cobbled street repeatedly well. Overall happy with these.

Having a zip fastening makes them really easy to get on and off and they look great with jeans/trousers or dresses and tights. Super quality and details. You'll just need to give them a little wear in before doing lots of miles in them.
