I remember well the pain during the breaking in period (although it was always worth it in the end). When I decided to treat myself to a new pair recently I braced myself for a few weeks of blisters. However from the minute I tried on these Virginia boots my feet have felt totally at home! The leather is so soft it doesn't rub at all; I had also forgotten how comfortable the soles of DMs are - I feel like I'm walking on air! I love these boots!

Rated 4 out of 5 by UltimateCheese from Need to be worn in, but look great with almost all outfits I saw other reviews which said to go down a size if you’re in between. Being a 4-4.5, I went for a 4 and they felt so tight and made my toes tingle! I was initially very outraged and wished I’d got a 5 but the fact I’d have to pay to return the boots put me off (why wouldn’t you have free returns like other retailers :-/ ). After a while of wearing them in the house with some thick socks to stretch them, they have loosened a lot and are actually really comfy. They feel kind of bouncy when you work. Taking the insoles out makes a massive difference to the sizing too. I absolutely love them. Somehow, even though they’re chunky boots (I was a bit shocked when I first got them out the box), they somehow make my feet look dinky. So cool with jeans or even floral dresses. The leather is beautiful and soft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sarah7 from Perfect! This might be the first pair of Dr Marten boots that I've been able to wear without fear of dire injury (blisters). I can hardly believe that I haven't had to break them in wearing double layered socks and Compeed! Such a treat to have softer leather. No doubt at some point I will buy some red ones too (which will be far more torturous), but in the meantime, before I'm brave enough to face a tougher pair, these are absolute bliss. They look great too :)

They were cheeper in this page so I decided to order from it and I wasn’t disappointed .Shipping was quite expensive ,but it was worth it ,because they arrived very fast ( in 2 days. Shipping was to another country). Im in love with the look and their quality. So i would 100% recommend to buy these boots from this page

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hayleyb17 from Such soft matte leather and so lovely Bought these with student discount, they were sold out with all other shoe retailers in my size so was so so happy to find them on office. They are such soft supple leather. Quite roomy so I’d say if you are a half size, size down instead of up. Feel like they might give me a blister until I wear them in a bit but the sole is so so cushioned and I’m sure they’ll be super comfy. I love this matte leather!

The only problem I have with them is they've given me blisters on the back of my ankles. I'm having to widen the back bit as its quite narrow. My shoe size is normally a 7 but I think these boots are a larger fit, I would recommend trying them on in store if you have issues with sizes like I sometimes do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AJ92 from Loveeeeeeeeeee these boots! After ordering three styles of doc martens in two different sizes each, I settled on the soft black leather Virginia boots. I’m SO glad I stuck with them! I went for a size 5, I’m a 5.5-6 usually but I read that they come up a bit big and the leather stretches so I didn’t want them to end up really big and not want to wear them. They were initially right across the front where the laces start so I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to wear them in without them rubbing a lot. The length was okay from the off and I’ve had no problem with them rubbing my heels at all! I took out the insole for the first day that I wore them which helped a lot! They stretched quite quickly and without much discomfort. They are now so comfy! I really love these boots! They look good with so many different outfits. I would recommend them to anyone thinking of getting a pair! Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to wear in the JADONS!

I'm super happy with the soft leather & overall classic look, but just also want to note the delivery - I had to change my time a couple of times, and it was still delivered promptly on the day I'd deferred it to - Which is always normally a bit tedious with online sellers & delivery!
