Esplar Trainers by Veja

VEJA has been creating sneakers differently since 2005, mixing social projects, economic justice and ecological materials. Paying homage to the Brazilian non-profit organisation which provides support to the cotton families Veja uses. The Esplar features white leather uppers and panels, logo V made of rubber, lace-up fastening, perforated front feature, and rubber sole.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Ycs1 from Disappointing I had high expectations for these and was drawn in by their eco friendly principles but sadly they are made from incredibly hard leather than is most uncomfortable. The tongue really dug into my ankle, they material creased in an uncomfortable way when walking and they felt like they would cause a lot of blisters despite fitting. They don’t warrant the high price tag, there are much more comfortable similar looking trainers available for a lower price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hd46 from Lovely quality, nice fit I don’t normally write reviews but having never paid this much for a pair of shoes before I read all the reviews and was so worried I may have made an expensive mistake. I am a size 6 and bought a size 6 and it’s a perfect fit. No rubbing, wore them in the house for an hour first day, then for a 45 minute walk. So comfortable. I have bunions so sometimes need a wide fit sandal or other shoe but no problem in these.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anglovesshopping from Esplar VS Campo I found these trainers incredibly stiff and would require a lot of uncomfortable breaking in. I ordered the Campo style as well to compare and they are 100% nicer. They are made with beautiful soft leather compared with the Esplar tough leather. I had to size down in both styles. The Esplar are quite flat like Stan Smith’s whereas the Campo are slightly chunkier and just look more expensive.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Uptown girl from So cute, yet sooo stiff I have blisters on my inner ankles from the stiff mouth of the shoe after the first wear. The stiff tongue does t really bother me. I’m sure they will soften with more wear. I plan to take a hair dryer To them to hopefully speed the process. I have wide feet and am a size 7 and the fit is good and tts. I really like the look of them, hoping they work out.

Was expecting the tongue to rub after reading the other reviews, but they have been fine. In fact I have found them more comfortable than my converse and gazelles (both of which run even after many wears). True to size. I love these trainers!
