We love the month of September, and the endless fashion week updates. Key fashion trends are taken from New York, London, Milan and Paris. Whilst I write this, I magically wish to be teleported to the likes of JW Anderson, Christopher Kane and Simone Rocha’s front row (FROW) however daily tabloid update shall suffice. Whilst the catwalk is an important resource, we’re more focused upon street style. Street style could be interpreted as the canvas for creative expression and we are totally down for that. We’ve reviewed New York, Milan and London (Paris is still due) and pick out our favourite trends for the season.
The western boot is no stranger to the fashion scene, whether you’re pairing yours with whimsical dresses or tucked into suit trousers, these boots are a firm favourite. We’re liking the combination of both formal and western merged together. Gone are the days of the ‘Daisy Duke’ look! we warmly welcome tailored suits, silk slips, structured shorts and that elegant attitude to match.
Similar to a classic western, the knee-high boot is a popular choice. This is the season to explore materials and textures to add a point of difference. Pairing these boots with mid-length skirts or a pencil skirt look classic and cool. We’re tapping into that french ‘chic’. Knee boots fit both within the neutral and grunge trend for autumn winter, and pair well for work or play.
No stranger to fashion week are our faves, trainers! You cannot deny their stylish appeal. These ladies looks are feminine yet cool. Winning formula right? Turning to Converse All Star/ Chuck 70s or adidas Campus have given dresses and skirts a laid-back yet on trend appeal. We love a statement sock, if you’re not matching to the brand, choosing cute designs can add a playful element to your look. Opting for trainers for when the weather is in-between ( typical London) is a practical choice and by the streets of fashion week, a stylish one too.
The utility boot is back, and bigger than ever (well has been for the past few seasons). Whether you’re into Dr Martens or a popular combat lookalike, this grunge style boots match any style. Toughening floral dresses, pink suits or trench and skirt combination has made these ladies stand out. What can you conclude form the above? Think cute yet powerful. A bare leg will be trending for the season (brave the cold ladies), so less tights and more leg. Not feeling the bare leg look? Pulling out silk mid-length skirts or tailored trousers will create the same statement appeal.
We always turn to street style for the best wardrobe inspiration. At OFFICE we stock most of these boots, match your look to the above stylish ladies:
