Babes on Waves are back for summer to celebrate the launch of new Converse ‘Golden Elements’ Pack ☀️

Babes on Waves is the next-generation community for Black, Brown & other underrepresented creatives. They’re redefining what networking, community & being in a members’ club means.

We caught up with collective as they took to Hampstead Heath to shoot the ‘Golden Elements’ pack 📸

What are you working on Creating Next?

Building up the agency side of Babes on Waves to create bigger, better, international events to connect more of our community.

Who inspires you to keep Creating Next?

Other creatives and competitors in my space push & inspire me to keep innovating & to always keep thinking of fresh new ways that ultimately push all of our community forward.

Nicole Chui (@thatsewnnicole) – Embroidery artist, known for her messy, brash & disruptive style. 💖

Nicole’s’ favourite part about being a BoW member is “Meeting people I genuinely connect with and hearing about incredible opportunities/ workshops for me and my business”.

Who inspires you to keep Creating Next?

My freelance co-working buddies Hidhir, Annie, Ning, and Jyni. I feel motivated every time I am around them, also want to shout out my friend Rahel who has grown her business organically whilst maintaining a full-time job.

Missy Yusuf (@Misemi) – Founder & designer of Misemi, a slow fashion brand that specialises in sublimation printed pieces, upcycled and reworked pre-loved garments. ♻️

Missy’s favourite part about being a BoW member is “Being part of a community that uploads and supports one another and there’s always someone to reach out and talk to for a chit chat, a rant or life and business tips. It’s very beautiful and so wholesome”.

What are you working on Creating Next?

I’m working on releasing my new ‘Garden Swirl’ collection and bringing back my upcycling workshops. I love being able to interact and teach people a skill that could inspire them to go reinvent and rework the garments they already own.

Who inspires you to keep Creating Next?

My mum, she has so much belief in me even when I don’t, so she definitely inspires me to keep pushing.

Missy is styling the Golden Elements pack with anything that elongates the legs, baggy jeans or a midi/ mini skirt. This type of fit would be PERFECT for festivals 😎.
