Yesterday saw the end of the London Collections: Mens AW15 and the designers, models and celebs were out in full force at the shows and presentations.
London is slowly becoming the go to place for men’s fashion and we saw a mix of 70s silhouettes, oversized, sporty looks and baby soft fabrics. KTZ and Astrid Anderson both took on some military styling this season, opting for oversized, utilitarian shapes. Astrid’s collection echoed Russian rebel with large fur hats, chunky knitwear and hiking style Nike sneakerboots.
JW Anderson and Oliver Spencer went a bit 70’s with tan and camel colour palettes, using soft suedes and shearling panelling. Boxy jackets and wide leg trousers were paired with hi shine loafers and smart monk shoes.
Playful brands Sibling and Moschino went for super bright colour palettes and unusual fabrics for Aw15. Since Jeremy Scott has arrived as creative director at Moschino there are no fashion boundaries. The catwalk show saw Tarzan like leopard print shorts, yeti fur boots and PVC trousers, not to mention an in house snow storm. Sibling went all pink with big tracksuits, faux fur panelling and giant teddy bears as accessories.
Outside the shows, the street style was just as impressive with the fash pack out to be papped in their classic and crazy outfits. The adidas Superstar is definitely back and set to be huge this year, which was evident in the amount of fashion followers we saw in them. Loafers, Chelsea boots and monk shoes were the favourite smart styles this season and were reflected in the catwalk shows, so it would seem these will carry through until AW15.
