We’re a bit nervous about saying it out loud in case we jinx it, but we think spring may be on its way after what has seemed like a very long winter.

A few days of sun and no rain has had us planning our spring wardrobes and we’ve decided that we’ll definitely be snapping up the following items in the coming weeks.

Fingers crossed we get a chance to wear them before June!

A denim jacket

Jeans have never gone out of fashion and denim shirts have been a must-have item for a few seasons now, but spring 2014 is all about the denim jacket. Top to toe denim was a common sight on the spring/summer runways, with Balmain and Louis Vuitton embracing the trend. For a twist on the classic, look for jackets with embellishments, patchwork details or even painted slogans to really make a statement.

Anything orange

Orange is truly the new black this spring, with the fiery hue showing up it many designers’ collections. We think the best way to embrace it is by purchasing a bold bright mini dress, but if you want something more subtle, opt for a tangerine bag or even just a slick of orangey lipstick to liven up a monochrome ensemble.

These Je T’aime coral heels are another great way to inject some orange into your outfit.

Silk joggers

Sports luxe is here to stay and now that the vicious winds have calmed down we can embrace the silk joggers we’ve been lusting after for months. Layer with a slinky t-shirt, leather jacket and heels for a relaxed yet stylish look.

Gingham pencil skirt

Girly gingham was all over the catwalk at the spring shows and stars such as Elle Fanning have been rocking the country-inspired checks. For a more grown-up twist on the look, we’ll be hunting for a structured gingham pencil skirt, preferably in blue or red and white. Let us know if you spot one won’t you?
