Founded in 1959 by Italian tailor Leonardo Servadio, the brand was named after his initials L and S, Elle –esse. The half ball logo combines the tip of a pair of skis and the cross section of a tennis ball which symbolizes the brands heritage in these sports. ellesse trainers and clothing became very popular in the 1990’s when sportswear became more of a fashion statement than purpose wear. The 90s were the era of product branding and logos and ellesse is well known for being one of the first brands to display its logo on the outside of clothing.
