Last night we had the hottest ticket in town to the exclusive launch party to the House of Vans London in Waterloo. This amazing space is a creative hub for artists, musicians and skaters and some of the biggest names came out in support for this exciting new venue.
The OFFICE HQ gang got to hang with Steve Van Doren, the son of Vans co-founder Paul who was more than happy to show us around and chat about the iconic brand. The legendary Z-Boys Tony Alva and Christian Hosoi were there showing off their skills and enjoying the incredible music acts that performed throughout the night. These included Dinosaur Jr, Tempa T, Roots Manuva and the hip hop giants Public Enemy.
As you walk in, you are greeted by a huge hall full of artwork and creative installations and at the back is the unique Vans lab which will play host to 4 artists at a time to create their work and eventually display in the art hall.
There is a a cosy cinema which will showcase a range docu-films and private screenings, a room with cabinets full of old Vans memorabilia, an 850 capacity music hall and of course the huge subterranean skate park.
Skaters can book a 2 hour skate/BMX session at http://houseofvanslondon.com/ for free and enjoy everything the venue has offer, including the in-house restaurant.
Last night was a true testament to the Vans ethos as the atmosphere was exciting, friendly and chilled and the venue proved itself as a great hub for anyone and everyone.
