How to Wear – Over the Knee Boots (OKB)

Friday, October 24th, 2014

It is the style of the season and we have been praying for the winter weather so we can show them off.

The leg lengthening, over the knee boot is you statement must-have for AW14 and not only looks super stylish, but keeps you pretty cosy on cold days.

It would seem that only tall girls can get away with this look but petite girls should not be afraid as there is a style of OKB to suit all.

The blessed, longer limbed girls can easily rock a pair of flat, thigh skimming Nova 2 boots with some tight skinnies and thick knit jumper.

Petite ladies, the pointed Neve or Nouveau 2  boot with a slim heel is perfect matched with high hemlines, thick tights and an oversized blouse. You can also take on some boyish styling with the chunky Notorious boot, that you can slouch down with some classic blue skinny jeans.

Girls with wider calves, fear not, the Antiquity Stretch boot has a premium leather upper with an elastic back panel for a slim, comfortable fit. Wear with a pleated skirt and soft, fluffy jumper for a feminine and flattering look.

Timberland – As Seen On Celebs

Monday, October 13th, 2014

Timberland is fast becoming the brand of the moment and even celebs are getting in on the action this winter.

The Premium 6 inch worker boot has always been a Timberland trademark style and this season we cant seem to get enough of it with all the new colourways and OFFICE exclusives.

This 90′s staple first became a fashion statement when the likes of All Saints and Aaliyah rocked them with baggy parachute pants and tight crop tops but now the cool kids of 2014 are making them their new fave footwear.

Mega stars like Rihanna, Jay-Z and the Kardashians are frequently seen in the cool yet practical Timberland boot and even getting the kids in on the action with little Blue Ivy and North West wearing mini versions.

Wear a black mono pair like supermodel of the moment Cara Delevingne and pair with ripped skinny jeans, a warm jumper and leather biker jacket, for an easy to wear, off-duty look.

Glam it up like Khloe Kardashian with the OFFICE exclusive nutmeg gold pair and wear with some smart jeans and shirt for a dressed down dinner date.

Rihanna is the perfect Timberland girl as the style perfectly matches her urban wardrobe, dress like her with a pair of premium Authentic Shearling boots to keep cosy this winter.

Guys can get a bit of hip-hop inspiration from Jigga and Yeezy who like to wear their classic Premium 6 inch boot with baggy jeans and an oversized sweatshirt. As the boots are quite chunky, guys should stay away from pairing them with their old faithful skinny jeans and try a classic pair of 501′s.

How to Wear Knee Boots

Thursday, October 9th, 2014

The cold days have arrived just when we had got used to having lovely warm weather well into Autumn. However with cold weather comes lots of layers, cosy knits and an excuse to wear all types of boot.

We will always love the transitional ankle boot but this winter we are taking things to new heights with knee high and over the knee boots. Taking influence from the 70s, this stand out style come in many forms, such as the equestrian inspired riding boot, the buckled biker and the sumptuous suede thigh high.

This season is all about keeping warm and premium leather, soft suede and shearling lining will help keep those legs a little cosier this winter.

141008_HowToWear2

Make a style statement with the slouchy suede Nova thigh boot, great with high hemlines, thick jumper dresses and super skinny jeans.

Pair a classic riding boot like the cuffed All Out or polished Agent 2 with thick leggings and an oversized jumper. This smart boot never goes out of fashion and will take you through until next spring.

Channel a bit of Dolly Parton at Glasto and go for the Nevada fringe boot which looks cute worn with a prom style skirt and boyish sweatshirt.

Toughen up your everyday look with a biker like the Nifty buckle boot, wear with black skinnies, crisp, white shirt and this seasons must have blanket coat.

Paris Fashion Week Roundup

Friday, October 3rd, 2014

The final week of high fashion is over and Paris proved itself to be a an epic finale.

We saw protesting women at Chanel, with cheeky model Cara Delevingne at the forefront leading a Pret-a-Porter army, including Giselle, Charlotte Free and Kendall Jenner.

Since Nicolas Ghesquière moved to Louis Vuitton, the clothes have gone slightly more youthful and his latest collection had models draped in schoolgirl-like silhouettes, dripping in sequins.

Never far from the front row, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were out in full force complete with their new addition North, who matched her parents outfits of course.

141002_ParisFashionWeek

Street style remained very Parisian with a lot of black, wide leg trousers, oversized shirts and circle mid skirts and the bloggers were out in their hundreds to capture moments from the closing fashion week.

Key trends to look out for in SS15 are cosmetic box hues of peach, mint and pink often in soft suede’s and exquisite sheers.

Pure, neutral tones and fluid silhouettes that create effortlessly feminine shapes.

70s styling is here to stay with plenty of flares and bold striped detailing.

Monk shoes – How to Wear

Thursday, September 25th, 2014

Over the years. men’s formal footwear choices have stayed simple and slick, with most opting for a classic brogue, a chisel toe lace up or a slightly daring winkle-picker.

Recently guys are getting a little more daring with their choices and the favourite silhouette of the moment seems to be the monk shoe. This Wall St style became popular in the 80s with the Jordan Belforts of the world and with 80s formal fashion coming back around, its only right that the footwear should follow.

140922_monk

Premium monk shoes like the Poste Apparel and Giovanni are best paired with a 3 piece suit for the office or worn with smart trousers and a shirt/jumper for evenings out.

Slightly more casual styles like the Ask the Missus Hirst and Anarchy look good with dark wash denim, loose fitted tweed and thin knitwear.

Vogue Fashion Night Out

Wednesday, September 24th, 2014

Last night the shopping mecca of Oxford Street hosted the annual Vogue Fashion Night Out and provided a flurry of events all along the famous London street.

To help celebrate the night the OFFICE Oxford Street East store offered customization on every pair of our best selling On Tops heel. Customers who bought a pair could take them to the customization booth where artist Adam Claridge would draw on his old school tattoo-like designs for a completely unique heel. Adam’s designs have featured in Vogue and celebrities and models are loving this young designer’s individual artistic style.

There was also a Twitter competition where followers were given clues to find one of the customized heels on Oxford Street. When found the lucky person would win a £50 voucher and it didn’t take someone long to find it sneakily hidden in the shop.

As people came in to search for the shoe, we managed to capture some great street style from the trend setters who were out enjoying the fashion activities.

Heavy Metal

Wednesday, September 17th, 2014

Metallics are here to stay, carrying over from summer but taking on a darker, inky sheen for the colder months.

This dissonance trend adds a subtle metallic detail to any outfit and the iridescent effect has a textural and dimensional quality that gives the shoes a luxe effect.

The pointed Strobe heel and Kicker Slip On look as if they have been dipped in a petrol pool with greens and purples shining through the hi-shine black. Pair with some denim, loose white tee and structured jacket.

140915_HeavyMetalBlog

For a warmer tone, go for the Georgia Court or Vectra Brogue in deep bronze, great matched with tailored trousers or girly dresses and thick tights this Autumn.

Make sure you have a touch of dark metallic into your wardrobe this season to easily glam up the simplest of outfits.

#LFWBlogFest with UGG Australia & Bip Ling

Tuesday, September 16th, 2014

Who better to give the bloggers of London a good wake up call to kick start LFW than blog superstar Bip Ling! Despite her New York jet lag the ever bopping Bip was on the DJ decks at 8am last Friday celebrating the start of LFW at an exclusive breakfast event hosted by Office and UGG Australia for the UK’s top bloggers.

A fashion connoisseur and frequent FROW’er, Bip loves London fashion week above any other as home to the most creative and exciting shows, where “everyone gets involved.”

140916_Bip

For three seasons now Bip has also been a part of the UGG Australia Creative Council; featuring in seasonal campaigns and working with the brand at events such as #LFWBlogFest and Vogue Fashion Night Out. Bip has been a fan of UGG since sixth form, when she wore her classics every day, and continues to grow with the brand as the range expands into fashion and casual silhouettes.

In conversation with Victoria White of Company magazine who hosted the event trend talk, Bip was asked what makes a blogger successful. As a game changer in the blogging world, with her creativity and unique sense of style, she puts it down to personality. “When you show your personality brands become interested in working with you because you stand for something.” Take note budding bloggers…

After the event Bip nipped home for a moment to herself and a bit of “mooching in my UGG classics” before hitting the shows. Check the Office blog later this week for a round up of Bip’s fashion week experience, and choice of shoes to go with her enviable outfits!

Nine to Five

Monday, September 1st, 2014

With new season comes a time for a mega wardrobe refresh for work so you arrive back to the office looking your best. Say goodbye to bare legs and shoulders and welcome thick tights, structured blazers and chunky loafers.

The glam, power vixens of the office can match their pencil skirts and cigarette pants with sharp pointed stilettos, like the On Tops or t-bar Selina and a pale chiffon blouse.

For those who like a heel that’s not too high and a bit of premium detail, then the Solstice cut out heel or Ted Baker Moniirra court are just enough to pair with a simple shift dress or tapered trousers.

140829_WorkWear_Blog

For the tomboys and girls on the go, chunky flats like the Vaccine monk buckle shoe or the classic Extravaganza loafer will have you running for a morning coffee with ease. Go ’90s style and wear with a girly pinafore or sport some androgynous styling with a grandad shirt, slim tailored trousers and a tux jacket.

Monochrome

Friday, August 29th, 2014

A transitional trend that seems to reappear season after season is the simple and stand-out head to toe monochrome. This ’60s inspired look has had a modern makeover with clothes and footwear staying minimal and sleek.

The bold shades of midnight black and stark white have a luxe look about them, whether they are worn solely as one colour or the two together. Footwear for AW14 has a lot of focus on texture which juxtaposes the minimal mono colour and is a subtle way of adding a premium feel to an effortless outfit.

140828_Monochrome

This uncomplicated style will always be your friend as it suits all, can be worn all year round and lets face it we all have black and white in our wardrobes. A baggy white t-shirt can be easily dressed up with a structured mini skirt and fresh perforated leather Vans Classic Slip Ons or canvas Old Skools.

With clean leather boots like the Dioon Lace Up and Chelsea from Vagabond you can experiment with texture in your clothes by wearing heavy knit, gauzy/sheer panelling and lightweight jersey.

Wear a geometric patterned or striped shift dress with black opague tights and the Villain Three Part Point for a smart work-wear look or wear the same dress with Lycra leggings and the Holla Cross Strap sandals for casual weekend days.
