Introducing new brand BucketFeet

Thursday, April 11th, 2013

BucketFeet Co-founders Aaron Firestein and Raaja Nemani first crossed paths in 2008 while volunteering with children in the slums of Argentina. Their mutual love of travel and creativity ensued and they soon came to the realization that art knows no boundaries and in 2011 they joined creative forces and set on this journey together in order to create a brand that would support artists worldwide by producing comfortable, high quality shoes as a medium to spread art.

The launch which includes art from five international artists perfectly encapsulates and expands BucketFeet’s ambition to bring wearable art to the world whilst delivering new and interesting shoes to the consumer.

BucketFeet are helping these up-and-coming artists by giving their art a way to travel near and far, a dream the brand was founded upon. These under-recognized regional talents, who may have otherwise remained local, now have the opportunity to bring their art to the masses thanks to co-founders Aaron Firestein and Raaja Nemani.

BucketFeet’s mission is to find a different artist to design every shoe. Talented artists get the global exposure they deserve, and consumers get original shoes that stand out. The company provides payment for the art upfront, as well as royalties for each pair sold. BucketFeet hopes to inspire both artist and consumer to be inspired by each other.

OFFICE is proud to present ffoR. A brand new style concept developed independently for the fashion savvy male.

ffoR follows a simple formula; premium + design = effortless style

The focus is on quality leather and suede, uncomplicated silhouettes and fine detailing; so that every element is perfect. Inspired by Scandinavian design this range has universal appeal with an original edge. Styles are fashion forward; find Asgard, Elves, Midgard, Odin and Jord.

ffoR is available in two minimal colour options; black and grey, with the exception of the wildcard; the teal Asgard chukka boot. ffoR combines sharply crafted uppers with starkly contrasted coloured soles, giving a flash of colour and a hint of eccentricity, making the range anything but subtle.

Latest in Brand - Underground ‘Creeper’

Creepers found their origins in the years following World War II. British Soldiers returning from desert wars had worn suede boots to which they had attached improvised rubber soles made from old rubber tyres. Returning to London, the ex-soldiers made their way to the undesirable “night spots” of Kings Cross and Soho. They were still wearing this rubber sole footwear or derivatives that had been put together by their cobblers. Creeping around these nightspots was enough to give the shoes their name.

The 1950’s saw the apperance of the first real youth tribe: the Teddy Boys. Their apperance was based on the Edwardian Saville Row renaissance:it was something of a cynical interpretation. They dressed in fine clothes but ignored any airs or graces of the Edwardians. they were young men that had money and were going to dress up and have a good time.

The Creepers dissapeared in the 60’s with the arrival of the MOds and Rockers. However the late 70’s saw the Creeper back on the scene with the Punk movement and imortalised this destinctive shoe.Throughout the 80’s, Creepers were taken up by the psychobillies and in the 90’s, by Rock and Roll revivalists. In Recent years, the Rockabilly revival has seen the Creepers out in force once again. Underground Creepers use the authentic tooling and lasts to ensure that the look and shape remain true to the cause and ensuring that they remain the popular chice on stacge and on the runway. underground_04
