Hunter Original SS16 Fashion Show #Beaheadliner

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015

On Saturday 19 September, Hunter Original celebrated its iconic connection with music festivals, with a SS16 collection that took its inspiration from the muddy fields.

Held in Euston Station Parcel Deck, London, the ripstop tent interior of the setting, complete with guy ropes, referenced the unmistakable landscape of the festival fields, and the looks themselves, drew on the spirit of the most epic festival experience.

Hunter presented the ultimate festival journey, featuring the tools to survive whatever the climate throws at you. From the early highs of a sun-soaked main stage, to the after-hours downpour where adventure begins. Lightweight nylon fabrics and Hunter sneakers were introduced, alongside waterproof rubber and vinyl jackets. Technical performance soles were fixed onto soft suede uppers and bags were crafted with welded seams to offer the definitive weather-resistant accessory. Colours evoked hazy summer sunsets, sun-bleached dégradés in sorbet and lilac, alongside dusty neutrals.

Closing the show, the Original Clog, a new Hunter icon was launched.

Prior to today’s show, Hunter introduced #Beaheadliner Mobile Sessions – a new arm of immersive and interactive content on Periscope. Directly tapping into the theme of the show, the sessions featured exclusive performances by some of the most exciting emerging musicians in the UK today.

#FROW – What to Wear @ London Fashion Week SS16

Thursday, September 17th, 2015

With London Fashion Week kicking off tomorrow, its seems only fitting that we share the best #FROW looks from New York to give you a head start and become part of the fash pack.

We have picked our top looks from the last week and paired them with our top footwear picks to get you looking front row ready.

Take things to new heights like Jourdan Dunn and rock a pair of Neve over the knee boots with some denim shorts and a long sleeved top for that ultimate 70’s siren look.

Stomp around in style like Hailey Baldwin in some classic Timberland boots, we are loving the grey nubuck pair this season and they look super cute with muted pastel colours.

Make sure you have a statement pair of flats as they are a fashion week staple. If you are lucky enough to be running between fashion shows, then a classic pointed ballet flat like our Lifestyle in white will be you best friend for long days.

If you are a trainer girl and can’t live without them, a pair of smart adidas Gazelle OG‘s will look great with a long midi dress and leather jacket.

London Fashion Week Roundup

Wednesday, February 25th, 2015

Yesterday saw the end of London Fashion Week where the best of British design talent showcased their AW15 collections and the fash pack were out in full force giving us styling tips for the new season.

Despite the cold British weather, stylists, bloggers and journalists were dressed to impress as they hung out around Somerset House waiting for the next show to begin.

Sportswear was a big hit this year and everywhere you looked you could see the classic shell-toe adidas Superstar on men and women. Dressed up with tailored trousers and cocoon coats or dressed down with ripped boyfriend jeans and thick knitwear, the Superstar was a firm fashion favourite.

Points, slip-ons and mules were also dominating the style set this season and it seemed everyone was loving the retro 70s look, opting for camel coats, flares and paisley prints.

To coincide with the launch of LFW on Friday 20th we teamed up with Vans to host a VIP gifting event at the ME hotel, a stones throw from Somerset House and in the heart of all the action. In the evening we took key members of press, plus a load of competition winners to our first #OFFICEHOUSEPARTIES event at the House of Vans London, find out more about the night here >

On Friday 20th we had the pleasure of attending Jean Pierre Braganza in the main tent at Somerset House and we realised early on we wanted one of everything. Taking his inspiration from fighter jets and film noir the collection consisted of oversized tees, fur trimmed aviator jackets and wide legged slacks. We would wear this power vixen collection with our black Pitch Point mule, Naughty Thigh High boot or Precious shoe boot.

It was an early start on Sunday 22nd as we heading to the Institute of Contemporary Arts on The Mall to attend the Palmer // Harding show and presentation. Wearing our new Lance Monk shoe the models looked like Russian dolls in heavy wool coats, high neck shirts and embroidered dresses with their hair in milk-maid braids.

On Monday evening we attended the Hunter Original show at the Albert Embankment warehouse where Alasdhair Willis put on a visual masterpiece with models walking in amongst cascading water. Giving the feel of a wet British winter the models were wrapped up in thick outerwear, oversized trousers and of course the trusty waterproof rubber welly in many forms.

LFW definately went off with a bang and we cannot wait until next season.

#LFWBlogFest with UGG Australia & Bip Ling

Tuesday, September 16th, 2014

Who better to give the bloggers of London a good wake up call to kick start LFW than blog superstar Bip Ling! Despite her New York jet lag the ever bopping Bip was on the DJ decks at 8am last Friday celebrating the start of LFW at an exclusive breakfast event hosted by Office and UGG Australia for the UK’s top bloggers.

A fashion connoisseur and frequent FROW’er, Bip loves London fashion week above any other as home to the most creative and exciting shows, where “everyone gets involved.”

For three seasons now Bip has also been a part of the UGG Australia Creative Council; featuring in seasonal campaigns and working with the brand at events such as #LFWBlogFest and Vogue Fashion Night Out. Bip has been a fan of UGG since sixth form, when she wore her classics every day, and continues to grow with the brand as the range expands into fashion and casual silhouettes.

In conversation with Victoria White of Company magazine who hosted the event trend talk, Bip was asked what makes a blogger successful. As a game changer in the blogging world, with her creativity and unique sense of style, she puts it down to personality. “When you show your personality brands become interested in working with you because you stand for something.” Take note budding bloggers…

After the event Bip nipped home for a moment to herself and a bit of “mooching in my UGG classics” before hitting the shows. Check the Office blog later this week for a round up of Bip’s fashion week experience, and choice of shoes to go with her enviable outfits!

London Fashion Week Roundup

Thursday, February 20th, 2014

AW14 Fashion week is over so, we’re taking  the opportunity to look back at what we’ve seen and been up to over the last week since it started.

To start with, when choosing a LFW outfit it’s important to look eye catching and absolutely fabulous – you never know where and who might ‘pap’ you after all! Here at HQ we gave you our top choices of footwear for the week that would get you noticed and keep you bang on trend. Otherwise known as our LFW Faves! Consisting of flatsbootsheels and brogues there’s something for everyone no matter your itinerary for the week. Brogues for rushing from show to show, boots for when the weather turned bad and the all important heel for the after show parties.

Some of our very own from HQ went down to Somerset House to do a spot of street style, style hunting. We were on the look out for show attendees in a pair of OFFICE shoes as well as celebs who happened to pass by. Pastels were a big theme and favourite along with the brogue in both heel and flat styles. Ultimately, everyone looked great! Some were a bit more alternative than others and some went for classic fashionista chic. The mix of people was amazing, which only added to the buzzing atmosphere.

Nina Nesbitt also gave us the opportunity to see LFW from the front row. Taking instagram snaps of her day at the shows, she later shared them with us so we could see what she got up to. Looking glamorous and beautiful as always  and dressed head to toe in ‘Joseph’ we saw her outfit that she wore to the show. We also got a couple sneak peeks of her at the shows on the front row, back home getting ready to go and a cheeky snap with designer Julian Macdonald. Thanks Nina! Looks like you had an amazing time, we are well and truly jealous!

February 2014 saw designers from all over flood to London for a week of glam clothes, starry celebs and raucous after parties. Now having drawn to a close we can be sure that AW14 is looking set to be anything other than dark and dreary. Going by the shows we’ve seen, we’ll be looking forward to rocking some faux fur, bright colours and bold all over prints when Autumn hits down.

London Fashion Week 2014 – Day 1

Friday, February 14th, 2014

Roses (noses) are red; violets (lips) are blue, matching the pastel pouts and rosy cheeks of the fashion elite on a blustery Valentines morning – it was clear that pastels and pinks were a rip-roaring success to kick of the 2014 London Fashion Week. Whilst we couldn’t have predicted sunnier skies, Office appears to have nailed the fashion forecast promising bright things for the upcoming range (we’re already excited!). As the heavens opened and the fashionistas battled with their brolleys, we were transported to a balmy summer’s day as the crowds braved the bitter weather.

Whether it was cotton candy or fondant fancy, pastel power reigned supreme and accessories looked good enough to eat from head to toe. Even the fashion foodies were whipping up sweet treats wearing psychedelic prints that could have easily been plucked of the catwalks at SS14.

Our faves from AW13 have been re-crafted in crayon colours for high summer, whilst paying attention to cult cut-out styles. Jazz up our ‘On Top’s with destroyed denim and a plain white tee to blag that blogger look, or covet cool Scandi style in our edgy new season ankle boots.

As the paps were snapping, you only had to look up to see chunky soles keeping the leggy London ladies towering above the rest. In buttery leather, buckled and heeled to perfection, OFFICE certainly isn’t giving this style the boot for high summer 14.

For those who chose comfort over couture, our Kilter slip ons were the go-to for those on the go! Paired with denim shorts and a retro rucksack, these fashion favourites are set to sprint into summer without a second thought.

So whether you’re kicking it in slip ons, styling it up in pointed courts or keeping it playful in tasty pastels, Office has high summer sorted. Watch this space.

With London Fashion Week starting tomorrow, we’re excited to see what trends will grace us with their presence in Spring/Summer 2014.

Around 80 designers will show off their latest and greatest predictions of the next big styles at Somerset House between 13th-17th September. This is an event on every fashion lover’s calendar – even the shoe obsessed like us!

Most of us won’t get the chance to attend LFW in our life time, so we wanted to give you a little taste of what goes on at the show and behind the scenes. We’ll be following one of our lovely HQ girls Alexandra Oliver as she attends the Jean Pierre Braganza show and takes a few snaps for you along the way.

Before she head’s off to the show tomorrow, we got a few questions in:

What are you most looking forward to at LFW?

I love the buzz around Fashion Week, it’s great to see what the designers are doing and also really good for street style to see different personalities scattered around Somerset House. Also a goodie bag is always a fun treat to get.

Obviously there is a lot of pressure to look great at LFW – what will you be wearing?

I’m terrible at picking my outfit until the last minute, so right now I’m not sure. I really like classic, quite boyish trends at the moment so probably an oversized tee, slim trousers and chunky heels and of course my trusty Alexander Wang bag as it is a great day to night bag and fits in all the essentials.

Describe some of the trends you think you may see front row?

I expect to see some light tailoring, mixing suiting with light feminine shapes, a 1920s picnic in the Hamptons style. For prints I think possibly some very girly, fantasy, mermaid like colours but possibly contrasted with some edgy fabrics and silhouettes.

LFW is always a great start spotting event! Who would you love to see?

It’s hard to say because you often see people you wouldn’t expect at shows. It would be good to see some American celebrities as they always seem to make more of an impact at shows, so maybe Lady Gaga or Lana Del Rey would be good to see.

What shoes will you wear to the show?

I will definitely wear a pair of chunky heels, probably a wedge to take me through until night. Probably a pair of statement Jeffrey Campbells but I will take pair of Nike’s to change into between the show and party.

As a shoe lover – what do you think will be the next shoe obsession?

I think it is very much all about the barely there heel, girlish power heels and delicate pumps, we all love chunky 90s looks but I feel we are moving away from that and into subtle colour palettes and stilettos.

Check in next week for an update on the show, who Alex saw, what they wore and hopefully some backstage goss!
