Studio 54 – Party Shoes

Monday, November 9th, 2015

With party season ahead of us, its only right that get ourselves ready for the glitz and glamour of our favourite time of year.

Time to bring out the sparkles, glitter and lame and go OTT this season with a touch of Studio 54 glamour. The Seventies have been a huge fashion influence this year and this continues into partywear with us taking our outfit inspiration from the likes of Angelica Huston, Grace Jones and Bianca Jagger.

Back then the jumpsuits were head to toe glitter and the heels were high, but it is easy to achieve this look with a stand out pair of shoes and plenty of sparkle.

Platforms were of course the shoe of the ’70s and our Twin Platform Heels are a must have. With a vintage style moc croc leather upper, these heels look fab with a gold sequin shift dress. If you aren’t too keen on the skyscraper heels then the mirrored silver Lima Flatforms also look super cute with a classic LBD.

Suede knee boots and ankle boots were also a style statement of the era and this season we are wearing them morning, noon and night. Wear our Nomad Over the Knee Boots or Immortal Metal Heel Boots with a bell sleeve playsuit.

If points are your thing, you are spoilt for choice with our fab collection. Wow the crowds with a pair glitter On Tops, Trouble High Back Courts or our Topical T-Bar Point.

We are more than ready for the party and we hope to see you there!

Sneak Peak | AW15 Trend: Upper East Side

Thursday, August 13th, 2015

While we bit farewell to what is left of the summer holidays, there is one thing we can get a bit excited about and that’s our new AW15 wardrobe. Its a shame that the weather will be cold but it gives an easy excuse to wear more layers and fully show off our new looks for the season.

New York is a huge fashion reference this Autumn and we thought we would give you a sneak peak at another trend you will be seeing on the streets very soon. Moving away from the downtown grungy style that we looked at previously, this trend takes us uptown to the Upper East Side. Time to rewatch Cruel Intentions, Gossip Girl and Devil Wears Prada  and uses as a key style influence for this look.

It is a bit prissy and girlie with an edge of Seventies, Studio 54 glamour. The skirts are high waisted and A line, the trousers are flared and the tops are draped and feminine.

Footwear definitely nods to the 70’s with detailed loafers, slim, block heeled knee boots and platform Mary Janes. The colour palette is a lot of earthy browns and tans mixed with black, burgundy, cream and dusky pink. Fabrics for this trend are suede, corduroy, thick knit and leather and the footwear will see elements of moc croc, pony effect and embossed leather.

The great thing about this trend is that you can use elements of your summer wardrobe and rework them for Autumn. The Seventies was a huge hit this summer and we all have a suede skirt or boho blouse that we can style with thick tights and some knee boots on colder days. The look is smarter and less hippie chick but the foundations are already there from this season to take you through until next. Often its the shoes and the accessories that make the difference and help transition your look.

How to Wear Knee Boots

Thursday, October 9th, 2014

The cold days have arrived just when we had got used to having lovely warm weather well into Autumn. However with cold weather comes lots of layers, cosy knits and an excuse to wear all types of boot.

We will always love the transitional ankle boot but this winter we are taking things to new heights with knee high and over the knee boots. Taking influence from the 70s, this stand out style come in many forms, such as the equestrian inspired riding boot, the buckled biker and the sumptuous suede thigh high.

This season is all about keeping warm and premium leather, soft suede and shearling lining will help keep those legs a little cosier this winter.

Make a style statement with the slouchy suede Nova thigh boot, great with high hemlines, thick jumper dresses and super skinny jeans.

Pair a classic riding boot like the cuffed All Out or polished Agent 2 with thick leggings and an oversized jumper. This smart boot never goes out of fashion and will take you through until next spring.

Channel a bit of Dolly Parton at Glasto and go for the Nevada fringe boot which looks cute worn with a prom style skirt and boyish sweatshirt.

Toughen up your everyday look with a biker like the Nifty buckle boot, wear with black skinnies, crisp, white shirt and this seasons must have blanket coat.

OFFICE hangs out with Katy Moseley @ Next Models

Saturday, September 15th, 2012
Office LFW Blog Header
We caught up with the Global Head of Public Relations, Katy Moseley, from the hugely successful modelling agency, Next Models. She shared her insight into the hyped yearly fashion event that is London Fashion Week.

With a wealth of well know names on their books including; Rita Ora, Lana Del Rey and Alexa Chung, Next Models are at the forefront of the industry.

Here’s what Katy had to say!

What does your job involve?
‘I manage the day to day press activity for our models, and some of our talent, coordinating their press activity in the fashion arena. I also manage the public relations for the agency itself, so all the model competitions, social media and public facing activity.’

How did you get into your current job role?

‘I was asked to join Next to set up the PR department having worked in the music and fashion industries before.

How are you involved in LFW?

‘I book all our talent on to the front rows! They get invited to so many amazing shows and events you have to carefully juggle and manage things to make sure they are seen at the right things, wearing the right clothes. And get everywhere on time!’

What are the best things about working at LFW?

‘It’s an exciting time of year for the fashion industry. I get to meet up with lots of my clients and colleagues, and of course see all the new fashion for the coming season. It’s exciting to see which of our models walk in which shows, and who opens and closes.

If you could do any other job at LFW, what would it be?
‘I think I would be one of the British designers. It must be such a fantastic feeling of achievement and a culmination of hard work to see your designs on the catwalk.’

Which show are you most looking forward to at LFW?
‘Burberry and Mulberry are always great shows and make me feel very proud of British Fashion. I love the TOPSHOP show too and Issa is great for the glamour!

Which celebrities are you hoping to see?

‘It’s always exciting to see the big A-listers sitting front row, and of course the supermodels on the catwalk! Alexa Chung always looks fantastic at the shows and so does Suki Waterhouse and Clara Paget.’

Who throws the best LFW after party?

‘Well I would say us, as last time we did it, it was legendary. Mulberry’s parties are always fun, and so are the more off the wall ones like the Stella McCartney’s dinner last season with models as ballerinas!’

Who gives away the best goody bags?

‘You’ve got to love a goody bag! The Elle Style awards always have good ones and they always put a bottle of water in which is good when you are super dehydrated after a night of drinking.’

How do you get over a LFW hangover?

‘Yikes, I don’t like hangovers so I try to avoid them. I would suggest plenty of water, food and sleep. If not, then sunglasses, water and a strong coffee!

Who is your style icon?

‘Tali Lennox has fab style and so do the supermodels like Arizona and Anja. Celebrity wise I love Victoria Beckham and Kim Kardashian.’

How would you describe your LFW style?
‘Black! Something that is easily transformed from day to night. Always an OFFICE heel, sunglasses and a bag to carry all my show schedules, tickets and backstage passes

Which OFFICE shoes will you be wearing during LFW?

‘I will be wearing the OFFICE Gallivanting Slouch boot in black suede. They have the perfect mid wedge heel for running around in the day and taking me into the evening in style.’

What is currently on your iPod playlist?
Rita Ora’s new album ORA is amazing. And Mr Hudsons’ new band BIG KIDS which is funky.

What advice would you give someone who wanted to get into your profession?
Be prepared to intern. Make a good impression and work hard. It is not 9 – 5!!
