Taylor Swift @ BST Hyde Park

Monday, June 29th, 2015

On Saturday 27th we had the pleasure of attending the Barclays British Summertime Festival in Hyde Park, headlined by pop princess Taylor Swift.

Support acts included John Newman, Ellie Goulding, Vance Joy and Rae Morris who all took to the Great Oak stage and got the crowds dancing in the sunshine.

When Taylor came on stage earlier than scheduled, the crowd went wild. With fans ranging from 6 year olds to grandparents, she proved her worth as the ultimate pop star. Performing some of her classic hits like, I Knew You Were Trouble, Shake it Off and Bad Blood, the singer managed to schedule in many costume changes surrounded by a fantastic all-male dance troupe.

The highlight of the evening came whilst she was performing her hit Style, in which she welcomed onto stage her ultimate girl squad, which included Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Martha Hunt, Serena Williams and of course Cara Delevingne who waved the British Flag.

Mega fans came dressed in perfect pop star style, with flower headbands, boho outfits and plenty of accessories. The die hard fans went as far as to write Taylor song lyrics on their clothing.

Our experience as a Swifty fan girl was definitely a memorable one and we particularly enjoyed dancing to We Are Never Getting Back Together, whilst waving our light up wristband in the air.

Met Gala 2015 | Who Wore What

Tuesday, May 5th, 2015

Last night the stars descended on New York to attend the annual fundraising Met Gala, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts.

Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry and Cara Delevingne were amongst the celeb elite that embraced this year’s theme, China: Through the Looking Glass and their interpretations did not disappoint.

Organiser Anna Wintour placed a ban on mobile phones and selfies on the red carpet this year as to not draw attention away from the real cause of the evening and also to keep things a bit more “classy”. A big fan of a selfie, model Cara Delevingne chose to wear a tailored jumpsuit and have an intricate, temporary tattoo etched all over her arms and neck.

Although given a strong theme to wear this year, it seemed that more favoured the nearly naked look. Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez, to no surprise showed off their best assets in sheer, embellished gowns and Beyoncé took everyone’s breath away with a jewelled Givenchy gown that was nude apart from strategically placed beading.

Rihanna and Katy Perry made a bigger statement with their choice of gowns for the evening, going for bright colours rather than the traditional Chinese red that seemed to be very popular.

Katy Perry was dressed by Jeremy Scott for Moschino and oozed 90’s supermodel with her new pixie crop hair, reminiscent of Linda Evangelista back in the day.

Rihanna was draped in an enormous canary yellow dress coat, edged with intricate embroidery and fur which definately made an impact next to the vivid red carpet.

Model of the moment Kendall Jenner and Disney pop icon to bad girl Miley Cyrus opted for peek-a-boo dresses, to show off their statuesque figures.

Miley’s medieval style, studded dress was custom made by designer of the moment Alexander Wang and despite looking rather demure than usual, the songstress added her own unique edge with a slicked-back blue hairstyle.

Kendall looked every inch the red carpet mermaid with her green crystal Calvin Klein gown, laced up the side to expose just enough flesh, not quite as daring as her older sister, who is not shy to some over exposure.

Get the Look

Unfortunately the long gowns do not give us a chance to peek at the shoes but luckily some chose to expose their ankles this year.

Cara Delevingne’s tailored look by Stella McCartney was simple and sophisticated and looked great paired with a single sole heel like our black Pretty Lazer.

Mick Jagger’s daughter and model Georgia May Jagger looked breathtaking in her Oriental gown and chose to wear the shoe of the moment, the ghillie lace up. Get the look with our best selling Parisian heel in black.

There were some fashion highlights and some fashion disasters this year but as always the Met Gala did not disappoint with its host of famous faces and the odd gown a princess would be jealous of.

Coachella 2015: Get the look

Monday, April 13th, 2015

Known as the festival of the rich and famous, this weekend saw the start of Coachella and officially kicked off festival season.

The coolest Californian residents, supermodels and movie stars were all out in the searing California heat to enjoy music by Azealia Banks, David Guetta and The Weeknd.

The fashion theme for this year was most definitely influenced by the ’70s and was awash with tassels, fringing, suede, gypsy tops and crochet dresses.

The new model besties were there including Kendall Jenner, Hailey Baldwin, Gigi Hadid and Jourdan Dunn. Leading the fash pack with their hippie chick style, these beautiful specimens are our ultimate festival style crushes for this season ahead.

Bring a touch of Coachella glamour to the UK shores with this bohemian look for the festival season ahead. Although the weather isn’t guaranteed to be as perfect as California, we can definitely bring the sunshine with what we wear.

Western style ankle boots are a must when faced with dry, dusty ground and super comfy for dancing in all day. The Minnetonka Bandera Boot is a celeb style fave and we will be wearing ours with raw edge denim shorts and a crochet crop top this summer.

A ghillie lace up heel is our style favourite for this season and the chunky heeled Wild Thing looks great with a paisley patterned slip dress and fringed kimono.

Gladiator sandals are a holiday essential and a great addition to your festival backpack for those super hot days. Easy to wear, the Outlaw sandal looks good matched with a maxi skirt and cami or a cute, printed co-ord set.

The JuJu Babe Hi sandal is great come rain or shine and a great addition to your summer wardrobe for festivals or holidays.

Milan Fashion Week Roundup

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014

This last week saw Milan host its SS15 fashion week and it definitely gave us some exciting surprises along the way.

Model sensation and TV star, Kendall Jenner pounded the runaway for Dolce and Gabbana with a crowd of doppelgänger models beside her . The Italian designers took on Spain with a flamenco inspired collection in bold red, white and black. With strong religious undertones and bull fighter influences, this dominating collection had a powerful impact with Kendall at the helm.

We saw Native American prints at Etro, boy cuts at Jil Sander and festival fever at Emilio Pucci, but the spotlight was most definitely taken over by Jeremy Scott’s Moschino collection.

Every little girl’s dream was realised as life sized Barbie dolls walked town the catwalk, wearing the outfits we dressed our dolls in growing up. Some of the favourites had to be fitness, beach and tourist Barbie and despite being a little tacky and over the top, we couldn’t help but wish we could dress up like that.

Milan Fashion Week tends to fully reflect the Italian designers that put it on the fashion map and Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Prada will always remain at the forefront. But now with rebellious Moschino adding a sprinkle of Barbie pink in amongst some classic style, it has got us super excited for next season.
