Coachella 2015: Get the look

Monday, April 13th, 2015

Known as the festival of the rich and famous, this weekend saw the start of Coachella and officially kicked off festival season.

The coolest Californian residents, supermodels and movie stars were all out in the searing California heat to enjoy music by Azealia Banks, David Guetta and The Weeknd.

The fashion theme for this year was most definitely influenced by the ’70s and was awash with tassels, fringing, suede, gypsy tops and crochet dresses.

blog

The new model besties were there including Kendall Jenner, Hailey Baldwin, Gigi Hadid and Jourdan Dunn. Leading the fash pack with their hippie chick style, these beautiful specimens are our ultimate festival style crushes for this season ahead.

Bring a touch of Coachella glamour to the UK shores with this bohemian look for the festival season ahead. Although the weather isn’t guaranteed to be as perfect as California, we can definitely bring the sunshine with what we wear.

Western style ankle boots are a must when faced with dry, dusty ground and super comfy for dancing in all day. The Minnetonka Bandera Boot is a celeb style fave and we will be wearing ours with raw edge denim shorts and a crochet crop top this summer.

A ghillie lace up heel is our style favourite for this season and the chunky heeled Wild Thing looks great with a paisley patterned slip dress and fringed kimono.

Gladiator sandals are a holiday essential and a great addition to your festival backpack for those super hot days. Easy to wear, the Outlaw sandal looks good matched with a maxi skirt and cami or a cute, printed co-ord set.

The JuJu Babe Hi sandal is great come rain or shine and a great addition to your summer wardrobe for festivals or holidays.

That 70’s Show

Friday, April 10th, 2015

The trend that is on everyone’s lips and has transported us back to Woodstock is of course, the Seventies.

Time to invest in some flared denim, crochet crop tops and a suede, fringe jacket for the ultimate Almost Famous look. Chunky, platform sandals, clogs and fringe loafers are you new shoe essentials to get the look.

Camel, burnt orange, navy blue and cream are your go-to colours and make sure you have a suede skirt and stripy top to hand for an effortless ode to the era of Disco, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix.

BLOG_USE

Wear some Princeton platforms with a pair of high waisted denim flares, a sleeveless turtleneck and a fringed kimono, a perfect look for night out or a dinner with friends.

Pair your ghillie lace up Wild Thing heels with a button down black pinafore and a stripy long sleeve tee for shopping trips or a casual day at work.

To fully embrace the look, a pair of clogs is a must have, pair the Wildwood Clog with some flared ankle grazer jeans and a denim shirt, go double denim.

The Seventies are well and truly back, we have borrowed our parents vinyl, said goodbye to our skinnies and hung up a dream-catcher to channel our inner Joni Mitchell.

Peace and love baby!

adidas Supercolor Live event @ West Reservoir

Tuesday, April 7th, 2015

On Thursday 2nd we headed to the adidas Originals x Pharrell Supercolor Live party to celebrate the launch of this amazing collection and rub shoulders with adidas’ biggest fans.

We spotted Example and sneaker bloggers sampling the great food and taking in the great views across the reservoir where a huge Supercolor sound stage was lit up in spectacular style.

blog

The people who were lucky enough to nab themselves a pair of Supercolor Superstars were there showing them off, which was great to see how people were styling all the different colours.

The performance of the evening was unfortunately not Pharrell but music was provided by the atmospheric sounds of Koreless on the decks. Accompanied by a terrific light show across the reservoir, it was visually delightful.

Selected colours of the adidas Originals x Pharrell Supercolor Superstars are still available online & in store.

Save the Date – Occasion

Tuesday, March 31st, 2015

This time of year brings a feeling of excitement and slight dread as our calendars start to fill up with Spring/Summer occasions.

Whether its prom, a wedding, a day at the races or dinner with the extended family, the question we all ask ourselves is…what an earth am I going to wear!?

occasionGet your inspiration from the catwalk and celebs this season, think Easter colours, powder pink, baby blue and soft yellows with metallic touches.

Prom, is all glitz and glamour, films like Grease, Pretty in Pink and She’s All That are your go to for ideas, take inspo from 90’s colour palettes and 50’s silhouettes. Oversized tulle prom skirts and 2 piece dresses are taking over from your classic body-con and satin evening gowns.

Go big with accessories and add a statement jewelled clutch and make sure your date gets you a larger than life corsage.  Wear some ghillie, lace up Parisian’s with your ankle length dress or skirt to show off your stand-out shoes and freshly painted toes.

SHOP PROM

Weddings, they seem to all happen all at once, meaning you need a few outfit options because the guests may cross over and we cant bear the thought of being seen in the same outfit. Shoes can be your staple, work around those and pick a metallic or a neutral shade that can go with most outfits. A simple shift dress in a bold colour looks great with the single sole Saintly sandal, minimal and chic, this look is fail-safe.

If dresses aren’t your thing, a tailored jumpsuit or smart co-ord is lovely paired with a pointed heel like the Phoenix and accessorized with an oversized clutch (which can handle camera, confetti, tissues, make-up and possibly some flip flops to change in to after hours on the dance floor)

When you are lucky enough to be supermodel tall then heels may not be your first choice. Show off your long legs with some wide leg palazzo pants, a cami and a metallic Oscar sandal.

SHOP WEDDING

Ladies day at the races always calls for OTT glamour and similar to a wedding you can opt for a nice cocktail dress or a smart co-ord but the outfit is definitely all about the shoes and the hats. You can either go all out with some skyscraper platforms like the Palma and wear with a girly dress or skirt or keep things understated with a kitten heel like the Windsor and some tailored high waisted trousers and a sequin tee.

SHOP FOR RACES

Whatever the occasion, look at it this way – an excuse to go shopping for new things. Once you have got the shoes right, the rest is easy.

Monday, March 30th, 2015

The shoe trend that is dominating Spring fashion and a on the feet of every blogger and member of the fash pack has to be the ghillie lace up. We are going crazy for this feminine style and we are loving it in all forms, stilettos, pointed flats, chunky mids and summer ready sandals.

This flattering style is a great transitional shoe, taking you from your winter ankle boots into your summer sandals.

blog

Wear your Odessa sandals with some tailored, ankle grazer trousers, a logo t-shirt and a long kimono jacket for work or shopping days with the girls.

The chunky mid heel Wild Thing will look great with some acid wash mom jeans and a cropped shirt for casual evenings out and first dates.

For the ultimate stand-out ghillie style, then the Parisian or Popsicle stilettos are your going out wardrobe’s new bestie. Wear yours with a classic LBD or a nice co-ord suit set for weddings and days at the races.

Birkenstock

London Fashion Week Roundup

Wednesday, February 25th, 2015

LFW_02_c

Yesterday saw the end of London Fashion Week where the best of British design talent showcased their AW15 collections and the fash pack were out in full force giving us styling tips for the new season.

LFW_04

Despite the cold British weather, stylists, bloggers and journalists were dressed to impress as they hung out around Somerset House waiting for the next show to begin.

Sportswear was a big hit this year and everywhere you looked you could see the classic shell-toe adidas Superstar on men and women. Dressed up with tailored trousers and cocoon coats or dressed down with ripped boyfriend jeans and thick knitwear, the Superstar was a firm fashion favourite.

Points, slip-ons and mules were also dominating the style set this season and it seemed everyone was loving the retro 70s look, opting for camel coats, flares and paisley prints.

LFW_06

To coincide with the launch of LFW on Friday 20th we teamed up with Vans to host a VIP gifting event at the ME hotel, a stones throw from Somerset House and in the heart of all the action. In the evening we took key members of press, plus a load of competition winners to our first #OFFICEHOUSEPARTIES event at the House of Vans London, find out more about the night here > http://bit.ly/1upyEjJ

LFW_09

On Friday 20th we had the pleasure of attending Jean Pierre Braganza in the main tent at Somerset House and we realised early on we wanted one of everything. Taking his inspiration from fighter jets and film noir the collection consisted of oversized tees, fur trimmed aviator jackets and wide legged slacks. We would wear this power vixen collection with our black Pitch Point mule, Naughty Thigh High boot or Precious shoe boot.

LFW_07

It was an early start on Sunday 22nd as we heading to the Institute of Contemporary Arts on The Mall to attend the Palmer // Harding show and presentation. Wearing our new Lance Monk shoe the models looked like Russian dolls in heavy wool coats, high neck shirts and embroidered dresses with their hair in milk-maid braids.

LFW_10

On Monday evening we attended the Hunter Original show at the Albert Embankment warehouse where Alasdhair Willis put on a visual masterpiece with models walking in amongst cascading water. Giving the feel of a wet British winter the models were wrapped up in thick outerwear, oversized trousers and of course the trusty waterproof rubber welly in many forms.

LFW definately went off with a bang and we cannot wait until next season.
