What’s your heel type?

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015

Statement heels are a major trend this AW, and not just for stilettos, all the designers from Prada to Acne are playing with new, sculpted silhouettes. We’ve selected our favourite styles below.

This year the seventies trend dominated the runway, every major designer and high street brand were influenced by the quirky decade. With no signs of it disappearing our collection of retro inspired flared heels is ever growing, for the party season our Token Flare Heels go perfect with a culotte jumpsuit or for a feminine approach try the mid heeled Quazer in black patent.

Christian Dior’s perspex heeled, spray on boots had everyone from Kylie Jenner to Rihanna drooling this year. For 60’s styling and dip dye effect heel try our Illinois Cylindrical Perspex boots, wear with a leather mini and simple turtle neck.

For a sleek, refined silhouette opt for a cone heel. Our strappy Tainted Cone Heels in black leather are versatile and comfortable, wear with a fitted dress or for an edgier look add fishnet tights. For the ultimate 80’s throw back wear our suede Invoke Cone heel Boots  with tight jeans and a biker jacket.

Givenchy and Isabel Marant  famously covet the cylindrical heel, a directional style that looks good in various heights and widths. Our Ida Cylindrical Boots come in 70’s tan, glamorous snake and classic black, making the transition from day to night that bit easier. For a more everyday boot, Ingot Back Zip is a mid heeled, chelsea style that looks best with black tights or frayed jeans.

Paris Haute Couture highlights

Thursday, January 23rd, 2014

Fashion’s biggest names gathered in Paris this week to showcase their high end collections; the kind of swoon-worthy gowns you see Hollywood A-listers modelling on the red carpet. The haute couture shows are always an opportunity for designers to let their creative sides roam free and they certainly didn’t disappoint this season. We take a look at some of the highlights from the past few days.

Jean Paul Gaultier

Jean Paul Gaultier certainly knows how to put on a show. Models strutted their stuff down the catwalk in a series of burlesque-inspired ensembles. Delicate lace skirts and dresses and elaborate butterfly hairpieces were complemented by sparkly platforms and tough leather gloves. The stunning show closed with none other than Dita Von Teese dressed as a sultry butterfly.

Valentino’s show closed the couture season and it was a suitably theatrical ending to an amazing few days. The nature-inspired collection, which featured dramatic animal prints and earthy colours, was showcased against jungle and forest backdrops which were created in partnership with the Rome Opera House.

Karl Lagerfeld

All the stars looking for a slightly more toned down red carpet look will be flocking straight to Karl Lagerfeld this spring/summer. The designer put a sporty twist on eveningwear, teaming delicate beaded gowns and metallic midi dresses with trainers rather than skyscraper heels. This look has Kristen Stewart’s name all over it.

Nobody does couture better than Dior and this season was no exception. The star of the show was the ‘sack dress’, a loose sheath with a gathered cape back. Expect to see Dior fan and Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence sporting one soon.

Stephane Rolland

With Kim Kardashian planning to wed Kanye West this year, it was no surprise she was seeking wedding dress inspiration at the couture collections. Kim was spotted on the front row at Stephane Rolland’s show and told the press how much she loves his creations. Could the reality TV star walk down the aisle in one of the dramatic orange wedding dresses the outlandish designer closed his show with?
