Studio 54 – Party Shoes

Monday, November 9th, 2015

With party season ahead of us, its only right that get ourselves ready for the glitz and glamour of our favourite time of year.

Time to bring out the sparkles, glitter and lame and go OTT this season with a touch of Studio 54 glamour. The Seventies have been a huge fashion influence this year and this continues into partywear with us taking our outfit inspiration from the likes of Angelica Huston, Grace Jones and Bianca Jagger.

Back then the jumpsuits were head to toe glitter and the heels were high, but it is easy to achieve this look with a stand out pair of shoes and plenty of sparkle.

Platforms were of course the shoe of the ’70s and our Twin Platform Heels are a must have. With a vintage style moc croc leather upper, these heels look fab with a gold sequin shift dress. If you aren’t too keen on the skyscraper heels then the mirrored silver Lima Flatforms also look super cute with a classic LBD.

Suede knee boots and ankle boots were also a style statement of the era and this season we are wearing them morning, noon and night. Wear our Nomad Over the Knee Boots or Immortal Metal Heel Boots with a bell sleeve playsuit.

If points are your thing, you are spoilt for choice with our fab collection. Wow the crowds with a pair glitter On Tops, Trouble High Back Courts or our Topical T-Bar Point.

We are more than ready for the party and we hope to see you there!

What we loved about New York Fashion Week

Monday, February 17th, 2014

It may be all about London now, with designers models and fashionistas flocking to the shows in the UK capital this week. But what kind of fashion blog would we be if we didn’t spend a bit of time reflecting on all the amazing creations which were sent down the catwalks at New York Fashion Week just a few days ago?

We’ll start with the frankly amazing Marc by Marc Jacobs show which saw Brit designing talents Luella Bartley and Katie Hillier revealing their debut collection. The look was youthful, edgy, dynamic; in short everything we love and drew inspiration from sources as varied and eclectic as anime, race car driving and Wednesday Adams. As usual our eyes were firmly focused on the footwear and the stacked trainers did not disappoint.

Speaking of footwear, we spent much of last week drooling over Marchesa’s collaboration with shoe god Christian Louboutin. The futuristic heels almost threatened to overshadow the clothes, especially an intricate pair of red velvet lace-up wedges and some beautiful beaded evening shoes.

We also loved seeing Victoria Beckham’s line. Like Posh herself, the clothes were chic, classic and elegant. They were largely in her favourite shade; black, but there were splashes of red to liven up proceedings and one multi-coloured midi skirt we’ll definitely be searching for a high street version of.

As usual we could go on for hours about all the stunning designs we were wowed by at New York Fashion Week, but why not take a look for yourself at some of the highlights?

Trends to take from NYFW

If you want to inject some New York glamour into your wardrobe, here are a few key trends from NYFW.

1 – Glitter; metallics and sparkles as seen at Marc by Marc Jacobs and 3.1 Phillip Lim.

2 – Daring necklines; designers seemed to be competing to see how low they could go with plunging necklines. Invest in some double sided sticky tape pronto if you plan to embrace this trend.

3 – White; avoid messy foods in autumn/winter 14 as the hottest colour of the season is pure sparkling white.

Festive make-up trends

Saturday, December 14th, 2013

We’re in the thick of Christmas party season and if you really want to stand out from the crowd it’s all about ramping up the glamour with some statement makeup.

We take a look at the top trends we’ll be modelling in the coming weeks.

Berry red lips

Red is synonymous with Christmas and you should certainly be rocking the shade on your lips over the festive season. To ensure you stay mistletoe-ready for longer, opt for a matte lipstick and add a slick of gloss over the top.

Remember, if you’re opting for red lips, keep the rest of your makeup neutral so your pout really pops.

Glamorous glitter

Tis the season to embrace sparkle. After all, when else can you get away with wearing full-on glitter?

Glitter works best on the eyes, especially when teamed with metallic shades. Use a darker eye shadow in a gunmetal grey on the lids and then add a lighter silvery shade to the inner corners. Finish off with a sweep of sparkling eyeliner.

Christmas glow

No one’s going to believe you’ve got a tan in December, so opt for a natural festive glow instead. Use a shimmery highlighter on the apples of your cheeks to give you a radiant glow. A sweep of gold on the areas of your face which usually catch the light; your forehead, nose and cheekbones will make you shine like a star.

Festive fingers

Don’t forget to add the finishing touches to your Christmas party look. Why not treat yourself to a manicure to see you through the festive season? You can match your nail colour to your lips and opt for a berry red, or choose a metallic shade which will complement all your Christmas outfits.

Carnival SS12 Trend at OFFICE Shoes

Our Carnival trend is heavy with decoration, colour and fun. It’s time to be big, bold and brave. Get ready to dance the night away in raffia weave wedges, broderie anglais platforms and pretty gingham t-bars. As one celebration ends another begins with Carnival as coloured feather sandals, gem embellished gladiators and colour-block platforms take centre stage. Obviously no carnival can be without a liberal dusting of glitter and animal print so whether it’s a wedge, platform or sandal, our Carnival trend is ripe and ready for the taking.
