It’s that time of year again, where the occasion calendar is starting to fill up (rather quickly). Whether it is prom focused or you are attending a wedding, its time to start making sure your suits are pressed and making sure that you’re your best version of formal. Loafers, drivers or brogues are a popular choice, yet it really comes as no surprise that we suggest a pair of sneakers to the mix, as these shoes pair well with formal attire. We encourage you to have fun with your shoes, and with our extensive collection to choose from, you’ll be ready before you know it. Get fancy with your footwork.
Recently guys are getting a little more daring with their choices and the favourite silhouette of the moment seems to be the monk shoe. This Wall St style became popular in the 80s with the Jordan Belforts of the world and with 80s formal fashion coming back around, its only right that the footwear should follow.
Since the release of Wolf of Wall Street last year, the suited and booted city men have adopted the Jordan Belfort look and have taken a bit of ’80s style inspiration.
The streets of Bishopsgate and Bank have an added touch of Wall St glamour with city slickers pounding the pavements to and from work in some sharp tailoring. Long gone are the ill fitted suits, creased shirts and printed ties, with the working gentleman now taking a much more premium approach to his wardrobe.
Pale, feminine colours that were popular in the ’80s, such as powder pink, baby blue and yellow are back in the form of contrast ties, pocket squares, socks and shirts.
When the days are a bit warmer or it gets a little heated in meeting, a pair of braces against a white shirt is the perfect boardroom attire. Keep it New York inspired with the Appraisal American Brogue and a double breasted navy suit.

Lads, its time to start thinking new season as the colder weather is approaching faster than we think and it is a great excuse to have a bit of a wardrobe overhaul and dig out the layers and muted colours.
This season is all about the rugged gentleman, fusing tailoring with casual wear and adding oversized outerwear. Some of the recent grooming trends are sticking around with guys opting for short, back and sides and a bit more facial hair than usual, which will come in handy for the winter.
Rugged styles like the Amuse Lace and the Alpaca Apron have that old American workwear style and look great matched with deep indigo turn up jeans, heavy knits and if you are feeling adventurous, a touch of double denim.
A popular formal style this season is the monk shoe and this also transcends into casual with the Access Double Monk which has a touch of wingtip detailing. Navy suede will feature heavily this autumn and will match with grey tweeds, brown hues and denim.
For formal occasions or if you fancy changing it up a bit in the office, the Artistry tassle loafer is best paired with a 3 piece suit for the Jordan Belfort’s of the world or worn with some nice tailored trousers and shirt for an evening in a nice city bar.
