More Fashion Week Adventures

Wednesday, September 19th, 2012
Office Adventures at London Fashion Week
We were lucky enough to score a last minute ticket to the JW Anderson show at the NewGen space last night.
JW is the current much coveted Irish designer who has just launched a womenswear collaboration with Topshop

After a mad dash home and a room trashing later, we were ready to head into town.
A quick champers pit stop was made at the re-launched Selfridges menswear designer space.

Selfridges ceilling by Alex Cochrane
Selfridges had commissioned Architect Alex Cochrane who had re vamped the space and the men’s team also showcased ‘The Desirables’ a collection of archived menswear pieces. Two of the most eye-catching, were two Givenchy jackets designed for the late Michael Jackson to be worn on the ‘This is It’ tour.

A couple of cocktails later, it was time to hot step it to the show space held in Bedford Square Gardens. We quickly took out seats, along with FROWers Suzie Bubble, Azealia Banks and Pixie Geldof. The lights dimmed and the show started.

The theme of the show was ‘The Treatment Room’; a place where things distort and re –shuffle and where fabrics are engineered into garments. There was a ‘personal urgency’ to strip back fashion to garments with an edge. Patterns are refined, tailoring and masculine elements are mixed with feminine colours and drapery.

Paralympics Equestrian

Tuesday, September 4th, 2012

What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than watching the Paralympics dressage in Greenwich. With a relaxing Adele soundtrack and the serenity of the crowd it was really quite moving to see gold medallist Natasha Baker for GB standing in between silver medal winner Britta Napel and broze medallist Angelika Traberrt who were both from Germany. Couldn’t have been more happy, it really was truly inspirational.

On the way home we couldn’t resist stopping off at Greenwich vintage market where we spotted lots of little trinkets and treasures which got me well and truly in the equestrian spirit!

I had a moment of weakness on the way home and stopped off to buy DAILY, they look so great with
both jeans tucked in and give my vintage dresses a bit of an edge!

There’s plenty of riding and western boots on our site right now, I was spoilt for choice! take a look!

Notting Hill Carnival

Thursday, August 30th, 2012

Some of the girls from head office took to the streets of West London over the bank holiday weekend to soak up the sun, soca beats and the spirit of carnival. There was wind, there was rain, but that didn’t stop them!

Notting Hill Carnival is Europe’s biggest street party and this year didn’t fail to disappoint. For those of you that couldn’t make it, here’s a sneak peak at what went down.

We followed the street procession and took to our favourite sound systems for a spot of dancing.

Sporty vibes, bright colours, crop tops, vintage denim and army fatigues were the items of choice for the stylish Carnival goers. Paired with trainer wedges like Dash Wedge and flatforms like Match Point and you have the perfect Carnival mash-up!

Want to get some Carnival worthy foot candy? Here’s what we recommended for you girls!

And something for the guys…

Wilderness Festival

Friday, August 17th, 2012

Here at Office HQ, we love a good festival and we love sunshine even more! So last weekend at Wilderness festival was just what we’d been saving our festival outfits for, and it looks like we weren’t the only ones!

Hidden deep in the Oxfordshire countryside we took to the picturesque waters to cool down after   we had over exerted ourselves finding and then carrying our gear to the campsite!

Note to self - invest in deserter, its the perfect festival boot and goes with everything!
We indulged in all things vintage and found ourselves taken back to the 60’s in the shoe museum!

We spotted so many girls in beautiful floral head-dresses, so we decided to follow them and make our own!

We had so much fun we almost forgot about the bands playing, we made a special effort to go see Lianne La Havas and she didn’t disappoint, amazing voice AMAZING wardrobe!!

“For fashion week I like to keep things comfortable as you are running around from early morning until late at night. Wearing my favourite jeans and a simple jersey top means I can accessorise with statement jewellery and shoes. These amazing Office courts in vibrant coral brighten up my whole outfit. The mid heel means they are comfortable enough to run around in - while still keeping me looking smart for the evening parties.”

Staff Style: Leather Skirts, Wedges and Bows

OFFICE Staff Style - Wicked Wedge burgundy Microfibre

It’s that time of year when my wardrobe doesn’t know what it wants to do. Should I start wearing some new season stuff or do I stick to what I know? Ahhh! Faced with such a dilemma and new shoes adding to my wish list (daily it seems) I decided I’d have a look around the office for a little inspiration.

Leather skirts, tights, socks and tees seem to be the flavour of the day today. The Wicked Wedge looks great in this burgundy microfibre accessorised with cute vintage accents. The cream lace really works well with the contemporary leather skirt and modernistic flatforms. Super cute geek chic with a bit of a modern twist. Love it.

OFFICE Staff Style - Office Vintage Bow red leather

Our Vintage Bow in red leather has been given a bit of a grungy edge with a leather mini and printed tee.  The bright coloured Vintage Bow really add a quirky edge to an otherwise dark outfit. Sometimes it just goes to show that inspiration can be right under your nose. Thanks girls!
