| - My Job
I worked at Vogue Magazine for a few years before moving to the digital side. An opportunity came up which I saw as a great chance to explore what is becoming the future of publishing.

| - My LFW Diary “Today I attended and reviewed the Vivienne Westwood Red Label, Topshop Unique, Acne and Jonathan Saunders shows for Vogue.co.uk. The Jonathan Saunders’s show in the Tate Modern was incredible, it’s the only time the gallery has ever hosted a fashion show and it felt like a real privilege to see it, definitely my highlight of the day. There are so many venues now it’s not always about what’s happening in the main pavilion, and we try to cover to the tents and other venues in some way as you always see something surprising. What I love about the London shows is that there’s no ‘bedroom’ culture in the other cities like there is here; young designers working off their bedroom floor or kitchen table in order to get a collection together. It completely opens up the fashion forum. I used to work for the designer Jonathan Saunders so I know that putting on a show at LFW is like having a baby! You eat, sleep and breathe it for so long, and I always think about what’s been going on behind the scenes to make everything happen when I’m sitting in my seat for those few minutes. In terms of emerging trends for Spring Summer ’13, there has been a lot of sporty mesh, and space age seems to be a big talking point. American film director of Space Odyssey, Stanley Kubrick, keeps cropping up as a fashion reference too! I can’t do the LFW after parties like I used to which is a shame but I need to be on top form for all 5 days of Fashion Week. Saying that, I popped to see friends at the Vivienne Westwood party at the Embassy, the Whistles/Tank party at Bubbledogs and Jonathan Saunder’s after party at Bistrotheque. I will be saving my real celebrating until the end of Paris Fashion Week when I will finally be able to relax once all the show reports are complete!” |
