Get the OFFICE Look for Summer; Part 2

Tuesday, May 21st, 2013

Our second instalment from hair and make-up duo, the Technicolour twins, is here. This time, Danielle talks us through the steps to recreate our favourite make up look from the High Summer look book shoot; Sixties Siren.

Step 1
Prepping your skin before applying make-up is just as, if not more, important than the application itself. To do this, begin by exfoliating the skin using Age-Defying Exfoliating Pads. Then cleanse using a Hydrating Cleanser. Both of the products I use are by Radical.

Step 2

Apply BB (Beauty Balm) cream for radiant coverage and healthy, natural glow. There are lots of great BB creams available but my favourite is YSL’s Top Secrets BB Cream, complete with essential SPF20 protection.

Step 3

This look is all about the eyes. Apply a heavy line of black, kohl pencil eyeliner across the top of the eyelid following your lash line and finish with feline flicks from the outside corners. I recommend NARS Larger than Life Long-Wear pencil in colour ‘Via Veneto’, it won’t smudge or budge all day.

Using the same pencil, apply liner on the inside of the bottom lashes. Finish off the eyes with three coats of black mascara, my favourite is Larger than Life Lengthiness by NARS.

Step 4

Next, define your brows. Follow your natural brow shape using a shadow rather than a pencil as this is great for a fuller, more masculine brow. I recommend Laura Mercier Brow Powder Duo.

Step 5

As the eyes are the focus for this look, it’s important to keep the lip looking subtle, soft and feminine. Finish the Sixties Siren by using a pale creamy lip colour. Try MAC lipstick in ‘Pure Zen’.

Get the OFFICE Look for Summer; Part 1

Friday, May 17th, 2013

Technicolour twins, Nicole and Danielle Kahlani, are a hair and make-up twosome making waves within the fashion industry with their individual style and unique sisterly bond.

Hair stylist Nicole works at the cult East London salon, Bleach (the salon that kicked off the dip-dye and experimental hair colouring) and Danielle is a make-up artist who credits 7 years of hard work and self-belief as the key to her success.

Here, they talk us through their steps to create two of our favourite hair and make-up looks from our High Summer look book shoot.

First up, a tutorial on how to recreate our Mermaid Manes look by Nicole.

Step 1
Spray your hair with water to make it damp.

Step 2
Sprits salt spray all over your hair and brush through. This will give your hair a straight-from-the-beach look and works especially well at giving fine hair a bit of body. I recommend the beauty cult favourite; Surf Spray from Bumble and Bumble.

Step 3

Starting from the back, take small sections of hair and twist downwards. Use thickening spray on each twist.

Step 4
Use a diffuser nozzle on your hairdryer, at medium speed and on the maximum heat. Once the hair is almost dry, switch between hot and cold air - this will stop the hair becoming frizzy.

Step 5

Finish the look by creating the waves using your straighteners. To do this, move your hand in a zig-zag pattern along sections of hair. The end result – a natural, low maintenance wave.

How about you team your new style with…

Monochrome Trend

Friday, February 1st, 2013

Do opposites attract? Or do your eyes glaze over and think ‘boring’ when you see a monochromatic look?

If so, think again….

‘Mono-chic’ as we like to call it, is a timeless trend that has made its way back to SS13. A bold colour palette of black, white and grey, it adopts class, simplicity and is retro-chic.

For work, an evening out or a very special occasion, the monochromatic trend has it covered. Plus white or black go with anything, so you can strut your foot candy all year round.

This is London, This Office – Camden

Monday, July 23rd, 2012
Over the next four weeks we plan to take you on a tour of London the OFFICE way.
To do this we have enlisted the help of our amazing store staff in North, South,
East and West London to act as your very own style guides.

This is Office Camden - Simplicity Court
This is Office Camden - Mod Revival

This week the spotlight shines directly on our Camden branch North of the river.
Buckle up and strap yourself in, here we…

1. Sum up North London style in 5 words

Alternative, edgy, forward-thinking, street, confident’

2. What styles do you think are the ones to watch in Camden?

‘Recently the crowds pounding the streets of Camden Town have offered a nostalgic nod to one decade. Stacked platforms, ever higher wedges on both men and women, a rainbow of pastels, and a generous helping of studs are all subtle references to the Nineties, and Camden is leading the way on this big AW12 trend.’

3. What’s your favourite thing/place in North London?
‘A walk down Regents Canal on a sunny day, followed by a spot of people watching in one of the bars overlooking Camden Lock.’

Staff Style - Lucy's Sale picks

Wimbledon is in full swing (excuse the pun) and we are getting into the spirit of things with our latest canvas offerings. Whether you like slip on canvas pumps or lace up canvas flatforms we have the perfect summer casuals to freshen up your look. We love our rather topical Match Point flatforms in canvas. They look great with rolled up jeans or a floaty skirt and crop top. It’s a winning combination.

Navaho Trend now at OFFICE

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011

With new transitional stock trickling in, AW11 is fast approaching! One style influence that has caught the eye of us girls in team web is Navaho. These great little nomadic Navaho flats and ankle boots have really got us in the mood for some exploration. Their mix of rich woven pattern and soft suede are so cute! Team them with a floaty floral dress, parka and canvas and leather rucksack for that well travelled look.
