Sporty Whites

Friday, June 26th, 2015

With Wimbledon fast approaching, we are taking some fashion inspiration from the game and adding some sporty whites to our summer wardrobe.

This year has been all about the sports luxe style and dressing up tailored looks with sportswear and trainers. Clean, white mono trainers and sporty flats are a must have to give your smart look an athletic edge.

Think boxy silhouettes mixed with skin tight fabrics and performance style textures. Classic trainer styles like the Stan Smith and the Adidas Los Angeles are great paired with tapered trousers and an oversized scuba crop top.

Sheer panelling, airtex mesh and draped jersey are the textures you should source to inspire your look. Match a tennis style pleated skirt and a structured white blouse with some pointed Lennon flats or Birkenstock EVA sandals.

Go a bit nineties with an oversized t-shirt dress and a sports jacket, wear with platform Underground Nox trainers or Reebok Classics.

That 70’s Show

Friday, April 10th, 2015

The trend that is on everyone’s lips and has transported us back to Woodstock is of course, the Seventies.

Time to invest in some flared denim, crochet crop tops and a suede, fringe jacket for the ultimate Almost Famous look. Chunky, platform sandals, clogs and fringe loafers are you new shoe essentials to get the look.

Camel, burnt orange, navy blue and cream are your go-to colours and make sure you have a suede skirt and stripy top to hand for an effortless ode to the era of Disco, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix.

Wear some Princeton platforms with a pair of high waisted denim flares, a sleeveless turtleneck and a fringed kimono, a perfect look for night out or a dinner with friends.

Pair your ghillie lace up Wild Thing heels with a button down black pinafore and a stripy long sleeve tee for shopping trips or a casual day at work.

To fully embrace the look, a pair of clogs is a must have, pair the Wildwood Clog with some flared ankle grazer jeans and a denim shirt, go double denim.

The Seventies are well and truly back, we have borrowed our parents vinyl, said goodbye to our skinnies and hung up a dream-catcher to channel our inner Joni Mitchell.

Peace and love baby!

Save the Date – Occasion

Tuesday, March 31st, 2015

This time of year brings a feeling of excitement and slight dread as our calendars start to fill up with Spring/Summer occasions.

Whether its prom, a wedding, a day at the races or dinner with the extended family, the question we all ask ourselves is…what an earth am I going to wear!?

occasionGet your inspiration from the catwalk and celebs this season, think Easter colours, powder pink, baby blue and soft yellows with metallic touches.

Prom, is all glitz and glamour, films like Grease, Pretty in Pink and She’s All That are your go to for ideas, take inspo from 90’s colour palettes and 50’s silhouettes. Oversized tulle prom skirts and 2 piece dresses are taking over from your classic body-con and satin evening gowns.

Go big with accessories and add a statement jewelled clutch and make sure your date gets you a larger than life corsage.  Wear some ghillie, lace up Parisian’s with your ankle length dress or skirt to show off your stand-out shoes and freshly painted toes.

Weddings, they seem to all happen all at once, meaning you need a few outfit options because the guests may cross over and we cant bear the thought of being seen in the same outfit. Shoes can be your staple, work around those and pick a metallic or a neutral shade that can go with most outfits. A simple shift dress in a bold colour looks great with the single sole Saintly sandal, minimal and chic, this look is fail-safe.

If dresses aren’t your thing, a tailored jumpsuit or smart co-ord is lovely paired with a pointed heel like the Phoenix and accessorized with an oversized clutch (which can handle camera, confetti, tissues, make-up and possibly some flip flops to change in to after hours on the dance floor)

When you are lucky enough to be supermodel tall then heels may not be your first choice. Show off your long legs with some wide leg palazzo pants, a cami and a metallic Oscar sandal.

Ladies day at the races always calls for OTT glamour and similar to a wedding you can opt for a nice cocktail dress or a smart co-ord but the outfit is definitely all about the shoes and the hats. You can either go all out with some skyscraper platforms like the Palma and wear with a girly dress or skirt or keep things understated with a kitten heel like the Windsor and some tailored high waisted trousers and a sequin tee.

Whatever the occasion, look at it this way – an excuse to go shopping for new things. Once you have got the shoes right, the rest is easy.

Goo Goo for Ghillies

Monday, March 30th, 2015

The shoe trend that is dominating Spring fashion and a on the feet of every blogger and member of the fash pack has to be the ghillie lace up. We are going crazy for this feminine style and we are loving it in all forms, stilettos, pointed flats, chunky mids and summer ready sandals.

This flattering style is a great transitional shoe, taking you from your winter ankle boots into your summer sandals.

Wear your Odessa sandals with some tailored, ankle grazer trousers, a logo t-shirt and a long kimono jacket for work or shopping days with the girls.

The chunky mid heel Wild Thing will look great with some acid wash mom jeans and a cropped shirt for casual evenings out and first dates.

For the ultimate stand-out ghillie style, then the Parisian or Popsicle stilettos are your going out wardrobe’s new bestie. Wear yours with a classic LBD or a nice co-ord suit set for weddings and days at the races.

Business in the Front – Slingback Flats

Friday, March 13th, 2015

We are all about the mule and the sling-back this Spring/Summer but why should the heels get all the fun. Our collection of new flats are all business in the front and party in the back, ready to flaunt your tan on sunny days.

This delicate, feminine style of flat is easy to wear and can be worn smart for work or dressed down for those shopping till you drop days.

The pointed Luther or Laguna looks great paired with some black cigarette trousers, slim tee and a long duster coat or dressed down with some high waisted mom jeans and a cropped jumper.

The grungy style London and Lava are great for the girl who’s wardrobe is full of chunky platforms, Dr Marten’s and Vagabonds. Pair these heavy-tred sling-backs with some super skinnies and a high neck crop top or add some feminine flair with a cute smock dress and some ankle socks.

How to Wear – Over the Knee Boots (OKB)

Friday, October 24th, 2014

It is the style of the season and we have been praying for the winter weather so we can show them off.

The leg lengthening, over the knee boot is you statement must-have for AW14 and not only looks super stylish, but keeps you pretty cosy on cold days.

It would seem that only tall girls can get away with this look but petite girls should not be afraid as there is a style of OKB to suit all.

The blessed, longer limbed girls can easily rock a pair of flat, thigh skimming Nova 2 boots with some tight skinnies and thick knit jumper.

Petite ladies, the pointed Neve or Nouveau 2  boot with a slim heel is perfect matched with high hemlines, thick tights and an oversized blouse. You can also take on some boyish styling with the chunky Notorious boot, that you can slouch down with some classic blue skinny jeans.

Girls with wider calves, fear not, the Antiquity Stretch boot has a premium leather upper with an elastic back panel for a slim, comfortable fit. Wear with a pleated skirt and soft, fluffy jumper for a feminine and flattering look.

How to Wear Knee Boots

Thursday, October 9th, 2014

The cold days have arrived just when we had got used to having lovely warm weather well into Autumn. However with cold weather comes lots of layers, cosy knits and an excuse to wear all types of boot.

We will always love the transitional ankle boot but this winter we are taking things to new heights with knee high and over the knee boots. Taking influence from the 70s, this stand out style come in many forms, such as the equestrian inspired riding boot, the buckled biker and the sumptuous suede thigh high.

This season is all about keeping warm and premium leather, soft suede and shearling lining will help keep those legs a little cosier this winter.

Make a style statement with the slouchy suede Nova thigh boot, great with high hemlines, thick jumper dresses and super skinny jeans.

Pair a classic riding boot like the cuffed All Out or polished Agent 2 with thick leggings and an oversized jumper. This smart boot never goes out of fashion and will take you through until next spring.

Channel a bit of Dolly Parton at Glasto and go for the Nevada fringe boot which looks cute worn with a prom style skirt and boyish sweatshirt.

Toughen up your everyday look with a biker like the Nifty buckle boot, wear with black skinnies, crisp, white shirt and this seasons must have blanket coat.

Monk shoes – How to Wear

Thursday, September 25th, 2014

Over the years. men’s formal footwear choices have stayed simple and slick, with most opting for a classic brogue, a chisel toe lace up or a slightly daring winkle-picker.

Recently guys are getting a little more daring with their choices and the favourite silhouette of the moment seems to be the monk shoe. This Wall St style became popular in the 80s with the Jordan Belforts of the world and with 80s formal fashion coming back around, its only right that the footwear should follow.

Premium monk shoes like the Poste Apparel and Giovanni are best paired with a 3 piece suit for the office or worn with smart trousers and a shirt/jumper for evenings out.

Slightly more casual styles like the Ask the Missus Hirst and Anarchy look good with dark wash denim, loose fitted tweed and thin knitwear.

Nine to Five

Monday, September 1st, 2014

With new season comes a time for a mega wardrobe refresh for work so you arrive back to the office looking your best. Say goodbye to bare legs and shoulders and welcome thick tights, structured blazers and chunky loafers.

The glam, power vixens of the office can match their pencil skirts and cigarette pants with sharp pointed stilettos, like the On Tops or t-bar Selina and a pale chiffon blouse.

For those who like a heel that’s not too high and a bit of premium detail, then the Solstice cut out heel or Ted Baker Moniirra court are just enough to pair with a simple shift dress or tapered trousers.

For the tomboys and girls on the go, chunky flats like the Vaccine monk buckle shoe or the classic Extravaganza loafer will have you running for a morning coffee with ease. Go ’90s style and wear with a girly pinafore or sport some androgynous styling with a grandad shirt, slim tailored trousers and a tux jacket.
